Snowman Party

by Holly

 Snowman Christmas Party!!

I threw a Snowman themed Christmas Party for my little Girl Scout troop.

It was SNOW much fun!!

We made Yummy Snowmen at the SNOWMAN bar:

Lexi had a Christmas hair do with Glittery Pipe Cleaners.

We Made Snowman Scarfs.  (Later to use as a blind fold for a game)

White Paint + Little Hands + Sharpies = Adorable Ornaments!!

Games

 Blind Snowman

Each girl is blindfolded (with the scarfs they made)  :)  and had to draw a snowman.  See below for rules.

This game got tons of laughs!  The girls loved it!

Blind Snowman Game

  1. Blindfold everyone and make sure they can’t peek.  :)
  2. Ask everyone to only draw what is called out.
  3. Draw a Snowman head
  4. Draw the middle snowball on your snowman
  5. Draw the bottom snowball on your snowman
  6. Give your snowman some eyes so he can see
  7. Add a carrot nose so he can smell
  8. Give your snowman a mouth so he can sing
  9. Give him 3 buttons down the front
  10. Now draw 2 arms so he can give hugs to all his friends
  11. Last but not least, put a hat on top of his head to bring him to life
  12. Now take off your blindfolds and look at your silly snowman!!

Vote for the Best one!!  Give the Artist a Prize!!

Next we had to build another snowman.  Living in California, well, we are a little SNOW challenged…

Teams of 3 girls.  One is the Snowman, and 2 girls are the decorators!!  On Go, they have to wrap 2 rolls of toilet paper, add 3 buttons down the front, (paper circle with tape loops on them) , and finally add a scarf.  1st team done gets a prize!!

Our Winners!!  Good Job Alesia and Shaley!!  You guys ROCKED it!!

Of course!!  a T.P. Fight!!!  WOO HOO!

The Last Game we played was:

Snowmen in the Air

I loved this one. :)  Each girl got 2 balloons.

She drew snowman faces and her name on them.

On Go.  They had to throw them in the air and keep their balloons from touching the ground.  No HOLDING!!  Last girl with 2 balloons still in the air wins!!

This Party was SNOW much fun!!  We also had a Secret Sisters gift exchange, and all the mom’s brought yummy desserts and hot cocoa to go with our snowman bar.  Thank you everyone for presents!!  I am so lucky to be your GS Leader!!  Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Snowman Hair Ribbon Bow Tutorial and Snowman Game

by Holly

I am having a Snowman obsession this year.  It’s just SNOW much fun!!

You can download this embroidery design from Free on my Facebook Page for a limited time only!!

Here is a link to the entire outfit.

Here is how to make a snowman headband.

Tip:  Use a lighter, quickly run it past the ends of your ribbon.  This will seal it, and prevent it from fraying.  Do this to all the pieces before using hot glue.  As for the hat, the pic in the bottom left corner is upside down so you can see how to glue.  Make sure you glue it with the rim on the top.  I bought the little flower at JoAnns.

The Font used on the headband can be found here:

Elf on the Shelf Ideas- Meet Our Elf: MeMarkle

by Holly

The Elf on the Shelf is one of the best things about Christmas time with kids.  If you don’t have one.  GET ONE!  They bring so much joy to little ones everyday!! (Target has a few Elves hanging around looking for good homes.)

I would like for you to meet our Elf.  His name is MeMarkle.  He has visited our house for many years, and we consider him part of the family.

This is what he has been up to this year:

He showed up riding a truck, with a trail of 27 cars behind him.  One for each day until Christmas.  Each day Jack takes down one car.  When they are all gone, Christmas will be here!

He’s a clean little Elf.  Always taking bubble baths…

MeMarkle!!  Get out of Mommy’s village!  You know you’re not suppose to play in there!

Kissing Punzle Dolly in Ella’s room!  He really likes the Princesses!!

He left the kids a message with toothpaste.  So nice of him to leave new toothbrushes for the kids.

He also babysits while Mommy and Daddy have dinner.  Wow, such a helpful little Elf.

I’ll give you an update later this month on what MeMarkle is up to.  I am sure we have lots of fun coming our way!!

Advent for December

by Holly

I have a love of Advent calendars.  Every Christmas I have a them going all over the house.  It is like a daily treasure hunt in December.  I LOVE it!!  Here is my latest little bit of advent fun. :)

I printed 1- 24  on card stock.  I printed it on half of an 8 1/2 x 11, folded it in half,

found a cute stitch on my machine, and went to town.  1st sew 3 sides to make a pocket.

Add some toys, candy, money, notes, coupons…  You know, fun stuff!

Then sew your pocket shut with the same stitch.  Repeat 24 times

You can download my 1-24 ADVENT circles  on my yahoo group under files.

I also have a snowman advent you can download on my yahoo group.   This  one is fun to pass out as favors to kids.

I  print these out and pass them out with a little Christmas baggie of Cotton Balls, with the
note” Merry Christmas, Love The Huddlestons”.
The kids love them.

Instructions:

Have
kids color Santa

Starting
Dec 1st, glue one cotton ball on the circle with the 1, Dec 2nd,
glue one cotton ball in the circle with the 2.
Repeat each day until Christmas.
On Christmas Day Santa will have a full beard.  Come down the chimney, and deliver lots of Christmas JOY!
